A waitlist of mobile detailers is a list of people who said maybe. Your job now is to find the few who will pay this week and get them live fast. Here is how to do it with no audience and no budget.

1. Sort the list by who actually details

Go through every signup and mark who runs a real mobile detailing business: a van, an Instagram page with before-and-after posts, a Google Business listing. Look up each name on Instagram and Google Maps. Owner-operators doing 10 or more cars a week go to the top. Hobbyists and car enthusiasts go to the bottom.

2. Call or text the top 20 personally

Detailers live on their phones between jobs, so text instead of email. Try: "Hey Marcus, it's [name], I built the booking app you signed up for. Got 10 minutes this week? I want to set it up for your business myself." Book the call for early morning or evening, when they are not on a job.

3. Find the money leak on the call

Ask how they take bookings today: DMs, texts, a paper calendar, Square, Calendly. Then ask about no-shows, deposits, and how many hours a week they spend going back and forth on quotes. Write down their numbers in their words. One no-show on a $200 ceramic job is the pain you are solving.

4. Make one simple paid offer

Offer a founding plan at $29 a month, locked for life, plus you set up their services, pricing and deposit rules for free. Keep the price below what one lost job costs them. Say it plainly: "It's $29 a month. If it saves you one no-show, it's paid for. Want me to set it up today?"

5. Charge on the call, not later

Send a Stripe payment link while you are still talking and stay on until they pay. If they hesitate, offer to take the first month after their first booking comes through the app: "I'll set it up now, and you pay the first $29 once a customer books through it." A card on file beats a promise to try it next week.

6. Get them a booking in 48 hours

Put their booking link in their Instagram bio and Google Business profile, and turn on deposits. Help them text their past customers: "I now take bookings online with a $25 deposit to hold your spot: [link]." A real paid booking in the first two days keeps them subscribed.

7. Fill the list from where detailers hang out

Search Facebook for groups like "Mobile Detailing Business Owners" and local ones like "Austin Car Detailers." Read r/AutoDetailing and r/sweatystartup. Search Instagram for #mobiledetailing plus your city. Don't post ads. Answer questions about no-shows and deposits, then DM people who complain about them: "Saw your post about no-shows. I built a booking app with deposits built in. Want me to set it up for you free this week?"

8. Repeat every day

Five texts, two calls and one setup a day will get you your first 10 paying detailers faster than any launch. Hulby, an AI cofounder, runs this outreach and follow-up daily for founders who would rather spend that time building.

Mistakes to skip

  • Emailing the whole waitlist at once instead of texting the best 20 one by one.
  • Offering a free beta with no end date, which teaches detailers your app is worth nothing.
  • Waiting to build more features before asking for money.
  • Treating hobbyists who wash their own cars the same as working mobile detailers.

Want this done for your booking app for mobile car detailers, every day?

Hulby finds the people asking for what you built, writes every reply and email, and keeps you on it until they pay. Free to start.

Questions

What should I charge mobile detailers?

Start with a founding price of $25 to $39 a month. It should cost less than one lost job, so the choice is easy.

Should I take a cut of each booking instead?

Not at first. Detailers already pay card fees and hate extra cuts. A flat monthly price is easier to say yes to and easier for you to predict.

What if they say they already use Square or Calendly?

Ask what those tools miss, like deposits per service, travel zones or vehicle-size pricing. If nothing is missing, move on to the next detailer.

How many paying users do I need before building more?

Get 10 paying detailers and watch what they ask for. Build what three or more of them request.
